How to build a company profile: a practical presentation plan

firms.az editorial team2 min read

A visitor to your profile wants to know what you offer, whom you serve and how to reach you. Put specific information in an easy-to-follow order.

Explain your business in the first paragraph

Claims such as “a market leader in innovative solutions” do not explain what you do. Name your products and services, customer group and service area.

[Company name] provides [products and services] for [customer group] in [city or region]. We accept enquiries about [project or order type].

Fill this outline with accurate information. Do not add years of experience, certificates or partner names that you cannot substantiate.

Group products and services

Split your main activities into two to four groups rather than putting everything into one paragraph. Explain what each group includes and what information you need from customers. State limits such as supported equipment or project size.

Include information that helps customers decide

  • Service area: cities and regions you cover.
  • Order format: wholesale, project work or recurring service.
  • Supply terms: delivery, installation and technical support.
  • Work examples: real projects and product photos you can share.
  • Contacts: a working phone, email and company website.

If prices and deadlines vary, explain which measurements and requirements are needed for a quotation.

Check photos and contact details

Photos should accurately show your products or work. Do not present somebody else’s project as your own. Explain any product variants that are not pictured.

Test the phone from another device and send a test email. Confirm who receives enquiries and who will answer them.

Review the profile before publishing

Read it as someone unfamiliar with the business. Can they identify your main activities and know what to send in their first enquiry?

Update the profile when contacts, products or service areas change. Keep the directory profile, company website and presentation files consistent. Browse company profiles and read the company search guide to see the customer’s perspective.
